Victorian Wedding Cake charm pulls
The wedding cake charm pull tradition dates back to the Victorian era when brides would tie ribbons on charms and place them between the layers of her cake. The bride would then have each of her bridesmaids or her closest friends and family pull a charm from the cake before it was cut. Each charm represented a fortune predicting the bridesmaid’s future.
The traditional 6 charms consisted of:
The Anchor- A life of stability.
The Cross- A life full of peace.
The Heart- True love will find you.
The Wedding Ring- You will be the next to marry.
The Flower- Love will Bloom.
The Clover- Lucky in life.
